Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Ex-Roomates personal belongings

I let my friend move in with us about 1yr and 8mths ago(RENTFREE)she moved out 4 months ago, i don't know where she lives or works and i have a garage and bedroom full of her personal belongings.i want to get rid of her stuff!! What do i do with it??

And is she allowed to try to come in the house to get her belongings even though she hasn't lived with us for 4 months if my husband and i are not home? Or is that considered breaking and entering?

Re: Ex-Roomates personal belongings

Since she is not a tenant and her name is not on the title to the home then you have the right to change the locks. This will prevent her from entering at her will and without your permission. I suggest that you try and contact friends or family that she may have in an effort to contact her to return her things to her.
