Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My father passed away last year. The deed to his home is in his name and my mothers. My mother would like to have his name removed and my name added along with hers. Can I go to the courthouse with only a quick claim deed to do this?

Have an attorney review title for you. If your mother and father owned as entireties or survivorship, than transfer would require filing a certified copy of death certificate, affidavit of continuous marriage and quit claim deed from mom to mom and you, as survivors? Remember there are tax consequences to such a transfer. There are also potential homestead considerations. Seek legal advice before making a bad decision. Sorry about your loss
