Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Flooding due to disinigrated pipes
I purchased my first house Dec. 4, 2000. Dec. 29th was the first visit from the plummer. April 1st, the second visit to find out that my washer has been leaking all over the kitchen floor because the cast iron pipes have disinigrated. The damage will cost approx. $12,000.00. I did not have a home inspection. Do I have legal rights??

Re: Flooding due to disinigrated pipes
If you can establish that the seller knew or should have known of the defect and that by reasonable inspection the defect would not be found , you may have a claim against the seller.
Short of that, be sure to have a life jacket handy.
I aslo suggest you consult with a competent real estate atty in yr locale.
