No. Florida does not have any anti-deficiency law (like what they have in California) and a homeowner is responsible for any deficiency in the mortgage balance remaining after a foreclosed home is sold to pay off a note.
That said, sometimes banks are willing to accept a deed-in-lieu to avoid the expense of having to foreclose on the home. In this scenario, they may be willing to release the homeowner from any deficiency.
