Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Can a Florida landlord charge rent from 2 tenants for the same property? I left my lease one month early but my landlord was able to rent the property and not loose any rent. Now my landlord is charging me rent for the final month of my lease and he is collecting rent from the new tenant for the same month. Can he collect double rent?

You are obligated to pay rental per your lease agreement. The agreement is likely not contingent upon the landlord's ability to release early or not. The contractual obligation is still enforceable. The actual written lease would prevail. On the facts as I have assumed, the landlord can collect his rental as per the written agreements.
No. He cannot collect twice and has an obligation to mitigate his damages. He did by re renting.
