Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Florida real estate / liens
A friend purchased a condo in Miami but lives out of state. The HOA has been sending bills for the HOA dues to the wrong address for years, and has now placed a lien on the property. The friend is willing and able to pay the unpaid HOA but does not want to pay the attorney's fees and penalties that the HOA is tacking on. HOA is threatening to foreclose even though she hasn't received any of the notices.

she may be able to negotiate with the attorney and or the HOA, but she will likely not get very far. She should contact the attorney and make an offer to settle the debt.
