Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Forced to leave the premises for termite tenting.

I have actually 2 questions related to the same thing.

My landlord is selling my building (9 units) and has to tent the building for termites, we have been informed that we have to be out from 3/29 in the morning until 3/30 in the afternoon and that we can take 1 days rent off. For me that totals $21.00, We (my husband, son and myself)have no family here and nowhere to stay overnight a motel is going to cost a lot more than $21.00.

1. Isn't my landlord responsible for paying for whatever costs are incurred by us during this period, e.g. motel & meals out?

2. The exterminators want us to sign a waiver saying that they will not be held responsible for any theft, damage, etc., but if they are going to enter my apartment, I do not want to sign this waiver. Do I have to? PS. None of the neighbors want to sign.

Without reviewing the lease, I cannot provide you with a definitive answer. The obligations of the l/l and you are detailed in the lease.

I don't believe that any of you have any obligation to do anything not contained in your leases. Nor does your landlord have the obligation to renew anyone's lease. DO NOT RELY ON THIS INFORMATION; UNRESEARCHED ISSUES. CONSULT YOUR OWN RETAINED ATTORNEY!
