Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Foreclosure?

I bought a home with the help of a successor trustee. My friend of 24 years offered to help with house payments while I remodeled. 3 of his checks bounced. I offered to pay the lawyer all I owed him, but he refused to take any more payments from me. He has decided to foreclose on the property. He took a payment, but had me sign a paper stating that as long as I was working with a mortgage company that he would not foreclose. Then he wrote a letter to the company citing that he was charging me 450 dollars for foreclosure documents and rolled it into the final payoff of the house. My credit is not real good right now and I am really having trouble trying to get refinanced. I have had this property for almost 3 years. Despite what he claims my payment history has not been bad. What can I do to keep my home?

Re: Foreclosure?

Amonst your options is the filing of a chapter proceeding in bankruptcy. I urge you to consult with competent counsel in your locale. Something in your statement doesnt seeem quite right.
