Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I am going through foreclosure on my homestead property. I am also on the title as joint tenant on my parent's property. Can the bank put a lien or have a claim for my parent's property because I am on the title as payment for my foreclosure debt?

If they get a deficiency judgement, they can go after other unprotected property,i.e. your interest in your parent's property.

If your parents' property is not your homestead, it is not protected from creditors. You should consult with an attorney about defending the foreclosure and requesting mediation. The attorney will give you legal advice and information to help you make informed decisions. Regards,
