Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
foreclosure.
We have living at the property since july 07.We were serveon 2/15/08, the paper work stated that late pymt started on 9/08. The owner lives in england, our rent is paid to a realtor ( pain). They didnt know it was in foreclosure, I had to give him a copy on feb 17- never heard back from him until march 3- whent he made story that the mortgatge was on auto draft and the owner didnt know it was been taken out and he is speaking with the back to correct the issue. I left him a mess on the same day and didnot get a call back until the mar 6. I advised him that the lawyer that was handling the foreclosure said she does know about any discussions about puling out of foreclosure. The realtor told us he would speak with his lawyer and ge t back with us if we would continue to pay.. the same night he left a 3 notice on the door. called him on march 7, left a mess aftr mess and didnot hear from him until mar 17- when i left message saying we would be moving out--i called the court house due to paper we were served withs, says you have 20 days to respond and they never respond- he is now threating us,satying the lease is still enforced,,What should we do? please keep in mind we have no contact information for the owner

Pay your rent into the court registry to protect yourself from eviction proceedings.
