Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Foreclosure Question - Your Thoughts Are Appreciated!

My home (primary residence) in SW Florida is presently in the foreclosure process and have not received or been able to obtain any progress/status updates yet other then case being filed with courts...homeowners insurance expires soon and aside from that is there a legal way to remove ourselves from liability with the house since we have moved from it until the foreclosure if final...we have not filed bankruptcy but would like to not be liable for any concerns with the house considering the foreclosure process may take some time.
