Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My GA neighbor's husband died earlier this year. She says she is not responsible for hospital bills which were in his name only. So.......If only my husband is on the deed of our FL rental condo and he would die, could I just let this underwater property go with no problems? Our neighbor was in hospital several weeks which probably cost a lot more than our condo in Florida!

No comment about your neighbor and what occurs in Georgia (GA?) Did you sign the mortgage on the condo? If you did you still responsible for the debt personally notwithstanding if you are on the deed. If you did not sign, you are not obligated to pay for the note and mortgage.
