Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Hello:My husband and I are seniors-late 60's. On Sept.12, 2010 in Las Vegas, we were "high pressured" into purchasing a 12 yr timeshare. The co., Vacation International is licensed in the state of Washington; we live in Florida. We were on a road trip and just got home a week ago. We were promised a free cruise, 3 free weeks in Hawaii, 3 days and 2 nights in Las Vegas; all of the trips cost a good deal of money-they aren't free! We had never attended one of these loud, fast, sales pitches before. We are embarasssed and humiliated; I guess too old to absorb the info under these extreme and well producted conditions. "Go gamble and enjoy the rest of your trip, and then read the fine print". My credit card paid them $6,100.00 9/15/10. Bank of America said they can not dispute this payment. We now see that we only had 5 days to cancel the contract in Nevada. Got a bill yesterday for $636.00 maintainance! HELPCan we get out of this some way?

You can probably default, and they may take back your interest, and they may hound you for more money. You need a lawyer to fight these fast talking, fast moving companies, before they close shop and take your money with them. Inform your credit card to not pay any more money to these folks, as they may have kept your card number....better yet, get a new card issued. You need to move fast to recoup whatever you may still be able to get back. Send your credit card a formal dispute of the charges. Send it to the address on the BACK of your bill, that is marked for correspondence or disputes. Do NOT send your letter to the bill payment receiving address on the front of the bill.
