Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Helping our daughter buy a house

We would like to help our daughter and new son-in-law buy a house they cannot afford but would be a great investment for us. We have Homestead Exemption so in order to have this house qualify we were told our daughter's name must be on the deed. If it is with my husband's what percentage of Homestead would she receive and would the 3% cap still be on the taxes. If she/husband, my husband, myself were sued for anything could the house be lost in the settlement? If she were to divorce would her husband have any rights to the house? Could we make them move if we had to sell for financial reasons in the future? Prices increase here dramatically year to year so Homestead is a must.

There is no "one size fits all" answer to you question. What you need do is to priortize your needs, then consult with counsel to determine the best solution...which has the least downside potential. As an example, a life estate to your daughter.
