Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Should a known hiatus between two parcels be corrected?

There exists a four feet wide hiatus between my property and my neighbor that runs the entire length (about 1300 feet) of that boundary. I have owned my property for five years, however, this hiatus is defined on a survey dated 1989, yet no one has taken any steps to correct it. Should any steps be taken to correct it?

By hiatus I assume you mean a vacant strip of land. I assume it would be to your benefit to own it. Check the land records to determine its ownership and contact the owner to buy it. This is not a complicated matter.
