Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

hi,

i am in the process of settling property issues that are jointly owned my ex-girlfriend and i.

i am trying to figure what is a fair split. there are 2 houses owned jointly (FL/NC).

house #1 FL $110k tax value cabin #2 NC $150 tax value

$90k mortage (of which $30k belongs to cabin) i owe my partner $35k on the construction cost

we have been together 12 yrs. - she broke up with me and does not want to sell NC property.

if i can afford it, i will keep the FL house and she will keep the cabin.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you have it all worked out - you keep FL and she keeps NC. If the mortgage is spread across both properties and is in both your names, you may have to work out a refinancing arrangement so neither of you is responsible for the other's mortgage debt.
