Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Hi,

I signed a year lease, for an apartment in Miami. However, I no longer am residing there, and am trying to sublet my apartment. The other person I am sharing the apartment with is still living there. My lease says that as long as I find someone reasonable, I will be able to sublet my apartment. I have had some people that were interested in my apt, but the landlord won't approve... since she is saying the other person I am sharing the apartment with (who I don't get along with) has to approve. Although, this person is denying everyone I find to sublet my apartment, since she wants the entire apartment to herself. My landlord doesn't seem to care at all, and I am paying $900 a month for an apartment I don't even live at... and my financial situation is not that great. Any advice you could give me on what I should do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you have proof you had someone to sublet and the co tenant's refusal was unreasonable

you should be able to walk away from lease. This may ends up being an issue for a judge to decide.
