Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Hi - I own a home in Florida where the seller is holding the mortgage. I had to spend around 5K fora new septic system and she agreed to cover the cost but she wants us to take it off a balloon payment at the end of the note. I'd rather recast the loan so that I get credit for a prepayment. Is that an expensive process to get done?

expensive in as preparing the paperwork? probably not, but it must be mutual to have it work. If agreed upon, hire a local real estate attorney to help you prepare the addendum or amendment to the existing mortgage.
