Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
my ex does not own the home we used to live in, after a battery he was removed from the home. He has since tried getting revenge in several ways. He had a power of attorney for the property, and has filed an ejection against me, his child lives in the home with me, and I have nowhere else to live, can he really do this without ownership of the home?

Hmm, you say he HAD a power of attorney. I'm not sure in what sense he HAD power of atttorney, but no, he cannot evict you as he is not the owner. You would file an answer to his complaint stating that he is not the owner and does not have a right of possession. For instance, if you rent a home from someone and you are on the lease, but not your guest or significant other that is living with you is not on the lease, then you are not the owner, but you DO have possessory rights as a tenant.
