Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Hi, own own a home with my partner. We broke up in may of this year, the police were called, no charges filed but they stayed with me while I removed most of my belongings from the home. I have been living with a friend since then but continue to pay 1/2 of the morrtgage which is automatically debited from a checking account that I still share with my ex.

I have tried to negotiate my way back into the home as a roommate but that has not worked out. The house is in both of our names, the mortgage balance is 92k. Current tax records show home and land valued at approximate 115k.

My ex will not buy me out or allow me to. I am doubtful that we can sell the home. If I stop paying and am not living in the house, am I in danger of losing my ownership? I am not sure how to proceed and can't afford a lawyer. Any advice is appreciated.

You should be charging him rent. You should bring an action in partition to force a sale. You cannot afford not to have an attorney. Good luck.
