Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Can the Homeowners Association force me to pay for cable/phone they provide?

My homeowners association is going to put a lean on my rental property next door because I refuse to pay for ''assessed'' phone/cable service to this unoccupied unit. I was not told that I would have to pay for the service wether I used it or not when I took up residence here. Do I have any recourse to stop the lein they threaten?

Assuming in Florida.

Check your condo docs. Maintenance can include basic casble and telephone.

Unless condo is keeping you from occupying/remting the unit, the choice to leave it vacant is yours.

Contact my offices if you need my services.

Read your documents which you recieved when you bought the unit. I am sure it requires payment whether occupied or not.
