Is it possible to disband or discontinue a homeowners association in the State of Florida?

Yes, it is possible to disband a homeowners association but extremely difficult. You need to review your Association documents including Declaration and By-Laws. At the least, you will need a majority of the homeowners as set forth in the documents in agreement. You should consult an attorney who specializes in Condominiums and Homeowners Associations law to review your instruments and give you specific advice on what is required.
