Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Homestead exemption

I drive a truck for a living and am gone most of the time. I own a house, but when off work I do not stay in my home all the time because I stay with my significant other. My personal things, furniture, etc. are in my house. I do not rent out my house. Does any of this affect my right to homestead exemption.

Re: Homestead exemption

If you are the owner of the home and it is your principal residence and you claim none other for homestead, then you significant other situation should have no impact on your right to claim the exemption.
