Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I had a house in fort myers , fl . Bought in2006 for 403000.00 had two loan , wellsfargo 320000 and citi 40000. In 2010 My job got transferred to fort lauderdale . Then I bought a house in fortlauderdale
and stop paying the house in fort myers. House in fort myers was my primary residence until 2010 and now house in fort lauderdale is my primary home. My question is if I do a short sale , do I have to pay tax on the forgiven amount.
