Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Own the house, but not the property
My sister and her husband live on 5 arces that is owned by her husbands parents. They own their Mobile home that is placed on the property. They have been paying rent for the property for 4 years and also paying a portion of the property taxes quarterly for 4 years. The parents are now trying to kick them off the property, they have given them 30 days to move the home. They don't have a problem moving, but it will take longer than 30 days to move the home. Don't they have some sort of recourse given that they have being paying rent and 1/3 of the property taxes for 4 years? Thank you for your time.
