House Rental Security Deposit

Hello: After almost three years of renting a 3 bedroom home in Boca Raton, we properly gave notice to terminate our lease.

Our partial Security deposit was subsequently returned missing $ 700.00 for 'Lawn' repairs.

Can a landlord legally deduct money for a dead lawn- improperly installed as we were moving in- from a security deposit for a home in South Florida?
