If a builder did not remove their sign during an approaching Cat 2 Hurricane and the sign break loose and damages someones home is the builder liable for repairs to the home? The builder also sent out a letter informing all homeowners to remove hazardous debris.

Based on the facts provided, the builder will probably not be liable. Any damage to property caused by the sign should be filed under a claim with the insurance company that is covering the property.
Re: Hurricane liabililty
It appears the answer is no based on the facts you have provided. It may be hard to pin liability on the builder since a hurricane is an act of God, but if we learn more all the facts a viable claim may be possible, although it may not be worth the trouble. Make a claim with the insurance carrier covering the property that was damaged, and if the insurer wants to pursue the builder, the insurer can do so after cutting you a check for the loss. Good luck.
