Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My husband was given a piece of property before his aunt died (she quit claimed it to him), but her ex-husband had a mortgage on the property and filed bankrupcty. The property appraiser in our county lists my husband as the owner. What can we do with the property?

The property likely still has the mortgage lien. You need an attorney to determine the status of title for you. Did the Aunt own it 100%? How or when did ex-husband add a mortgage to the property? Did he own anything as of the date of the quit claim deed?
