Ex husband wants a quit claim for property owned by both of us. I need to know what kind of forms can I need to insure that he pays me the remaining balance of the money due me for giving him the quit claim deed. As he is only borrowing some of the money due me.Is a promissary note enough in a court of law or should I do a mortgage type of form and do I have to record that with the county clerk, and can I do that myself or do I need an attorney?

You need both a promissory note and mortgage. An attorney should prepare and file these documents.
