Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Improper Liens on Residential Property
I own a home in which a contractor filed a lien against it for work done at a different house. I know this is not legal in Florida but how do I get it removed. The contractor has an attorney/collection agent who refuses to acknowledge the illegal lien

One additional note, if the lien is not valid you may be entitled to have your attorney's fees paid by the contractor.

You need to contest the lien so that the contractor will either file suit (which you must then defend) or go away. Contact our offices to discuss this matter further.

You need to contest the lien, thereby forcing the contractor into court or to abandoning the claim. If the latter, you may have a claim for damages. In either event I urge you to consult with competent counsel. Call me for an appointment
