Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I have a judgment against me which is dated December 171, 2001 and recorded on January 28, 2002 (it is a certified judgment). I need to know when this judgment expires. Is it 20 years, 10 years, 7 years??? Thank you.

A recorded judgement is good for 10 years from recording, but can be renewed an additional 10 years if subsequently and timely re-recorded. So your first period expires Jan. 28, 2012, but can be re-recorded to bring it to 2022.

From a practical note, I haven't seen many that keep track of re-recording it timely so it often expires early. But that does not guarantee they wouldn't do it in your case.
