Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

what kind of deed do i need

My uncle has mental disabilities and didnt know he owed property taxes and when he found out that he had them they were 6 years late. Interest as grown and late fees. He has no money and was leaving the house to me. We agreed I would pay the taxes and the and property would be mine, but he can still live there the rest of his life. What kind of paperwork do we need?

Thank you,

Either a warranty deed or a quit-claim deed will work. He would need to retain a life estate in the body of that deed. That would then be recorded in the county where the property is located. Having an attorney prepare the deed or at least review the one you prepare is good advice.
