Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I kive in a townhouse community that is governed by a homeowners association. They have always had flood insurance. Now they have stated that we are out of the flood zone and have cancelled the flood insurance. I am taking out a policy to cover my inside but the outside of the home is not covered for flood insurance. The home oweners association is responsible for the outside. what happens if there is a flood.

If the HOA is responsible for the exterior and there is a flood, they will have to pay for the exterior repairs directly as it will not be covered by insurance. In most instances they will past this bill on to the home owners in the following year dues/fees.
