Re: Landlord hasn't paid morgage

First, you must continue to abide by the terms of your lease. That means that you still owe the rent every month. Chances are your lease will be up long before the home is actually foreclosed.

Your landlord must also abide by the terms of the lease and continue to provide you with the benefits given to you under the lease.

If the home is foreclosed the court will either direct you vacate the premises or it is possible that your lease would be continued until it's natural expiration.

The main thing to remember is that the foreclosure is not against you. You will have a place to stay until the end of the proceeding or the end of your lease, whichever comes first, so long as you continue to pay rent and don't break the lease.

I would suggest that you look for another place to move to at the end of your lease term.
