Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
landlord using renters space for storage
i rent a house in st.petersburg fl. i pay rent for 2 bedrooms 1&12 bath 2 driveways & a florida room. my problem is that my landlord has a whole bunch of junk stored in the florida room. wich means that i can not use this space. and if i move anything of hers she claims it was damaged under my negligence and is the value of the same item gold plated. Q. do i have the right to this space in the FL room and if so how do i go about getting this space for my own use?

Landlord stores prop. in home I rent

A. Does your lease say you rent the whole house and that the landlord did NOT retain any storage rights? If so, then either send a letter to your landlord charging her for storage rental and/or notifying her that after a min. of two weeks, you will move her belongings to a storage unit listed in her name and she can either pay them or lose her belongings. Obviously the safest way is to ask the court to decide your rights under the lease but that would be too expensive.

It depends on the wording of your lease agreement.
