late request for deposit
Our apartment office is claiming they never received a last months rent deposit two years ago when we moved in. They just notified us for the first time a few weeks ago, almost two years after the fact. We paid it but have no proof. Do we have to pay again?

If you paid it with a check, then you can obtain proof of payment from your bank. If you paid it in cash and have no way to verify that payment was actually received by the landlord, then you have a problem. Read the lease to learn whether the lease acknowledges receipt of the "last month's rent" and, if so, see a lawyer if it's worth the fight. Good luck.
