Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

We had a leak that caused mold. Our floors were ripped up. We have the insurance check with the name of the lender. I was told to day that Aurora loan will not sign over the check to the floor co. because we are not current in our payments. We are trying to get a modification loan now. We have two more payments to make before Aurora will consider it. The hallway, my bedroom, the dining room, and the living room are down to bare concrete. We have are things stored in a pod that will be paid for another month. Is this legal?
