Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Lease agreement

My question is similar to another I found on your site, but I am not sure what to do. I moved in to a place with my fiance, and he signed the lease (which i never saw) and shortly after he left. The landlord wants to sue me and him for back rent. I know I am not responsible but not only did he write my name where I should have signed, but he and another of his family told me that they will testify in court that I wrote my name there and they saw me do it. BUT I DIDNT! Do I have to hire a hand writing specialist or something? I am just out of college, and really broke because I spent all my money prepairing for a wedding that didnt happen.

Re: Lease agreement

If you have a family member familiar with your signature and samples and the signature is greatly different you do not need an expert. The court will look and see the difference. If similar, you may.
