Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My lease AND rental agreement read that carpeting/padding in a bedroom will be replaced. I have been in the property for 5 months and have sent several emails regarding this topic with no response. Is the lease holder in breach of contract due to this? If so, is this reason for me not to pay the amount stated in order to move prior to the end of the lease?

You should get a written estimate to have the work done, send this to the landlord with a letter stating that you will do the promised work, and deduct the cost from the rent. Send this letter and written estimate by registered mail. Then do the work, deduct the cost, providing that your rental agreement spells out the landlord's duty to do this work.
