Where do legally stand If I receive only the initial summons as a party in a lawsuit but no further paperwork indicating date, time and other vital information in regard to said lawsuit?

You should have gotten a complaint along with the summons. If not, you should check with the attorney who served you and get the complaint. You cannot just rely on the fact that the documents are missing and defend on that basis
