Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
letter of interest
I had an ex girlfriend who used to live with me for 2 yrs put a letter of interest on my property a year ago...Is there any time frame this expires without me having to sue her for slander of title..the title is solely in my name and always was..she shared expenses for living with me and its been two years when she stopped paying and one year since she moved out? what can I do without it costing me several thousands and have a free title? Id like to sell.

I have no idea what you mean by "put a letter of interest on my property". There is no such legal instrument in the State of Florida. In over 27 years of handling real estate matters and examining title, I have never encountered any such instrument. You should have this reviewed by a qualified real estate or title attorney who can advise your of your legal rights and whether or not whatever she did has any effect whatsoever against your title. This item might not be an impediment to clear title upon review.
