Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
We live in Florida and are trying to buy a house. The sellers are telling us they will not sell the house to us if we choose to get an FHA loan because they don't want to be nickel and dimed for closing costs, etc. We told them we'd be happy to pay for all of that, and even submitted a contract stating so. They still said no, they want a conventional loan. Can the sellers really turn us down because of the type of loan we would like to get?

Yes. They can even insist that it be a cash deal if they want.
The seller is not obligated to sell their home. They can turn down any offer, including cash. They only have a problem if they are refusing to sell to you for an illegal reason, such as discrimination against you due to your race, nationality, religion or other protected status under federal and state fair housing laws.
