Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I have lived in my condo for 5 years. I was a first time buyer. I just found out that I had never applied for homestead exemption. I thought it was already processed during the closing of my loan. I was told by a county employee that there is no way that I can apply to try to get my money back from the county but I would like to make sure if there is a process I can follow to try to get a refund for at least some of the years in which I've been paying more taxes.

You probably have to file suit. I don't believe that the county Value Adjustment Board has the authority to review previous years tax assessment and refund money.

No, but file for the future.
