How long does a landlord have to fix an Air conditioning unit in the state of Florida. It has been out since December 5th and he has not moved forward to fix the unit yet and it is the 23rd of December.

There is no true set time limit. What you have the right to do is send the landlord a letter advising them your intention of having someone repair the unit and deduct the repair cost from the rent. This is all based on the fact (per the lease agreement) the landlord is responsible to maintain the unit. Give them a deadline date to which if they do not respond and have the unit fixed, you will proceed with having the unit repaired. If not repaired by that date, you can have the unit repaired and deduct the cost from your rent payment.
