Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I magage a non-profit charitable organization in Florida which runs a few
thrift stores. One of the stores is losing money. We are trapped into a 5 year
lease (1 year nearly over). We really need to get out of the lease but the way
the lease is worded gives us no option to terminate. There are no special warantees
by which we could find any leverage.
The lease was signed before I started to work here. My question is this
is there any law that allows charitable organizations to come out of
leases due to financial hardship?

No, there is not. However, talk to your landlord, and discuss the situation with him. He might be willing to negotiate a settlement with you, or at least attempt to start to find another tenant so that his damages are limited.
