I recently got married. I want to add my husband to my home's mortgage. I was told that the only way to do this would be to refinance the home or quitclaim deed the home. Refinancing is not an option. The form for quitclaim deed does not seem to be exactly what I want. I simply want to add him name to the property. I am facing a major surgery soon and really want to get this matter settled. Again I just want to add his name to the property instead of it being listed just in my name. Thank you

Filing a new deed will add his name to the title, but not the mortgage.
