Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

A married couple no longer lives together, but has never divorced. The husband bought a house through the VA and the wife had to sign VA papers because they were stlll legally married, but did not sign on the loan. Now the husband is in default of the property. Can the wife be held legally responsible for the loan, even thought she is not on the loan papers.
