Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Monthly Rental Payment

I have been renting a house for 2 years in Florida, with rent increasing $50 each year. This year they have increased my rent by $125. I have never been late with my payment, and have taken good care of their property. I am on good terms with my landlord, and think it is unfair. They increased it $85 at first, and then when I asked for a 6 month lease, instead of a year because we are not sure if my husband's job will transfer us - they went up another $50 (a total of $125) for the next 6 months. Can my landlord increase my rent by that much for no apparent reason in the state of Florida? I have not signed the new agreement, and wonder if I have any options besides moving? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
