Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Mortgage Service Companies?
Our mortgage service company has recently changed. The new company charges fees for everything - even to make our payment (unless we agree to auto-deduct from checking acct).
Is there a way to leave this company without refinancing?

Re: Mortgage Service Companies?
No. Whoever holds the loan on your property has the right to freely sell it to another party. That said, the loan holder has to abide by certain standards established by federal regulations. They cannot charge you fees and change the rules unless you are provided adequate notice. If you feel their fees and requirements are unreasonable, then you may be able to file a complaint with the appropiate regulatory body.
