Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My mother had a contract to rent out her Florida property for four months, beginning Dec. 1, 2009. She has since passed away and my brother and I are the trustees of her estate. The renters recently contacted me stating they have decided not to rent, and would also like their security deposit back. There are no provisions in the contract regarding cancellation. Can we hold them to the contract and force them to pay the rent?
